Care Certificate    Training

The Care Certificate is the minimum training, supervision and assessment required to be completed by staff new to the health and adult social care sector in England, as part of their induction. It provides a solid foundation for new staff to ensure that they will be able to provide compassionate, safe and high quality care and support.

What Does It Consist Of?

There are fifteen standards that must be completed, involving theory learning, practical skills development and workplace assessments. Completion of all standards is required to attain the Care Certificate. These standards were developed jointly by Skills for Care, Health Education England and Skills for Health.

Health and social care providers regulated by the CQC are expected to ensure that the standards of the Care Certificate are covered in their induction of new staff.
