Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants at:
Level 1 will be able to:
​

Explain what is meant by the term ‘an Adult at Risk’.
​

List the forms abuse may take.
​
-
Recognise signs and symptoms of abuse.
​

Understand how to respond appropriately to disclosures of abuse.
​
-
Understand the legislation and guidance concerning safeguarding adults at risk.
​
Level 2 as well as the Level 1 learning objectives above, will be able to know:

How they would implement the safeguarding adults at risk measures required.
​

How to support people to keep themselves safe.
​
-
How to respond to safeguarding alerts / referrals.
​
-
How to identify and reduce potential and actual risks after disclosure or an allegation has been made.
​
-
How to develop protective strategies for those that decline services.
​
-
How to maintain accurate, complete and up to date records.
​
-
The roles and responsibilities of the different agencies involved in investigating allegations of abuse.
Course Overview
Target Population: All staff who may require Safeguarding Adults at Risk Training.
​
Course Duration:
Level 1: From 3 hours
Level 2: From 6 hours
​Certification: Level 1 or 2 Award in Safeguarding Adults at Risk.
Assessment: Knowledge assessment via a question paper.
​
Number of Participants: 20 Maximum
Our Safeguarding Adults At Risk Training:

Based on the compliance requirements placed on trainers by the Care Act 2014 and Equality Act 2010 chapter 1 (protected characteristics); chapter 2 (prohibited conduct) and chapter 3 (services and public functions).

Can assist with the knowledge compliance of the Care Certificate Standard 10 for Safeguarding Adults at Risk.

Can assist Health & Social Care Diploma candidates with the various elements of their learning.
