  • Understand the principles of hydration, nutrition and food safety.

  • Support individuals to have access to fluids in accordance with their care plan.

  • Support individuals to have access to food and nutrition in accordance with their care plan.

Course Overview

Target Population:  All staff

Course Duration:  3 hours 

 

​Certification:  Level 1 Award in Nutrition and Fluids.

​

Assessment: Knowledge assessment via a question paper.

​

Number of Participants: 20  Maximum

Nutrition & Fluids

Management Training:

  • Is based on the compliance requirements placed on trainers by the Food Safety Act of 1990; a variety of food  safety / hygiene regulations including those introduced in 2006; the Food Information for Consumers Regulation; and CQC standards.

 

  • Can assist with the knowledge compliance of the Care Certificate Standard 8 for Fluids & Nutrition.

 

  • Can assist Health & Social Care Diploma candidates with the various  elements of their learning.
