By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Understand the legislation and standards governing person centred care.
Understand the meaning and importance of person centred care.
Explain the importance of privacy and dignity.
Describe how to promote choice and Independence.
Explain how to improve care delivered to ensure person centred care.
Understand the principles that underpin privacy and dignity in care.
List situations when an individual privacy and dignity could be compromised.
Maintain the privacy and dignity of the individual(s) in their care.
Support individuals in making choices about their care.
Understand how to support active participation.
Target Population: All staff who may require Person Centred Care Training.
Course Duration: 3 hours.
Certification: Level 1 Award in Person-Centred care.
Assessment: Knowledge assessment via a question paper.
Number of Participants: 16 Max
Is based the compliance requirements placed on trainers by the Health & Safety at Work (Etc.) Act of 1974; Equality Act 2010; Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated code of practice; Mental Health Act 2007 and Code of Practice; Human Medicines Regulations 2012; Autism Act; Human Rights Act & the Care Act 2014.
Can assist with the knowledge compliance of the Care Certificate Standard 5 for Person Centred Care & Standard 7 for Privacy & Dignity.
Can assist Health & Social Care Diploma candidates with the various elements of their learning.
