Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the legislation and standards governing person centred care.

  • Understand the meaning and importance of person centred care.

  • Explain the importance of privacy and dignity.

  • Describe how to promote choice and Independence.

  • Explain how to improve care delivered to ensure person centred care.

 

  • Understand the principles that underpin privacy and dignity in care.

  • List situations when an individual privacy and dignity could be compromised.

  • Maintain the privacy and dignity of the individual(s) in their care.

  • Support individuals in making choices about their care.

  •  Understand how to support active participation.

Course Overview

Target Population:  All staff who may require Person Centred Care Training.

Course Duration: 3 hours.

​Certification:  Level 1 Award in Person-Centred care.

Assessment: Knowledge assessment via a question paper.

Number of Participants: 16 Max

Care Training:

  • Is based the compliance requirements placed on trainers by the Health & Safety at Work (Etc.) Act of 1974; Equality Act 2010; Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated code of  practice; Mental Health Act 2007 and Code of Practice; Human  Medicines Regulations 2012; Autism Act; Human Rights Act & the Care Act 2014.

 

  • Can assist with the knowledge compliance of the Care Certificate Standard 5 for Person Centred Care & Standard 7 for  Privacy & Dignity.

  • Can assist Health & Social Care Diploma candidates with the various  elements of their learning.
